Q&A: How to apply same change to multiple pictures in photoshop?

Question by Mrhat24: How to apply same change to multiple pictures in photoshop?
I just scanned a bunch of pictures but the contrast is not that great. Anybody know how to open a whole folder and apply contrast change to all the pictures at one time without doing it individually for every one. Thanks in advance. Ohh I’m using photoshop.

If you want to apply the exact same change to all, you can create an action and then run it on a folder. (Though personally I’d still look at each image individually to get a better result)

1. Open up an image
2. On the actions palette, click the « new action » button (at the bottom, next to the trash can)
3. Name the action and hit record.
4. Perform the actions you want (contrast adjustment)
5. On the actions palette, click the « stop » button (1st square button)
6. Go to File>automate>batch
7. Select the action set and the specific action that you just recorded.
8. Change the « source » to folder and then click the choose button to select the folder with your images.
9. Change destination to « folder » and choose a new folder to place the modified images in.
10. Click OK

How do you move a photoshop picture to Illustrator?

Question by Britters: How do you move a photoshop picture to Illustrator?
I made a picture in Illustrator and had to color it in Photoshop, but now when I bring the picture back to Illustrator its all pixelated. How do I get rid of it? Please Help. I’m still trying to learn everything. If you know of a video that has step by step instructions that would be great. Or if you can explain it that would also be amazing! I’m using CS5.1 in Illustrator and CS5 Photoshop.

Does the picture still look OK in Photoshop ?

If so, you may have saved it at too low a resolution
try saving it again at full resolution as a .Tiff or an .EPS file,
I have a feeling that Illustrator will accept .EPS ones

Can someone give me the steps like a walkthrough. I’m trying to put my picture, and my friends picture and just join it together. I have photoshop but I haven’t really used it. I heard someone say layers, but I can’t figure it out. Walk-through please.

depends on what version you have. i have 7, and what i do is i highlight the pic (select all if you have trouble) and hit paste as new layer. there’s a chart on the side too, so you can controll the transparency levels of each image.

How do you crop an image to the exact pixels needed in Photoshop?

Question by David S: How do you crop an image to the exact pixels needed in Photoshop?
I’m trying to take a large image and crop it. In Photoshop they like to use the units inches or pixels per inch when cropping, but I already know exactly the number of pixels the image needs to be.

Does anyone know how to crop an image to an exact number of pixels using Photoshop?

I’m using Photoshop CS4 and the crop tool has evolved to an easy access feature that allows you to do just that. I’m not sure about the earlier versions and if that have that… but I do have a unique solution that will do exactly what you are looking for.

It might be a bit confusing and with unnecessary steps, but this is a fail-proof way to do what you are looking for regardless of earlier versions, since I don’t have any earlier versions to test what features they have.

1. Open a new project with the exact dimensions that you are looking for
2. Drag in your picture into that project… zoom out if necessary…
3. Then with the move tool, shrink/move it around the project until only the desired section shows.

Not as simple as the handy CS4 evolved crop tool, but it will do exactly that.

Cheers :)
